Gallery Wraps

“Do you think it’s weird for us to have pictures of ourselves up on the wall? Does that make us vain?” I’ve gotten that question by a number of couples who’ve fallen in love with ‘Wall Art’ to tell their fotoNovella. You know, if you have kids it’s a given: you can put them on your walls. But as adults, we get self-conscience about pictures of ourself.

Here’s what I tell my in-love couples:

IT’S NOT A PORTRAIT; IT’S WALL ART.The images my clients gravitate to are the more artistic images. They aren’t picking out a smile-at-the-camera style portrait, but rather capture-the-moment Wall Art. So as you grow as a couple, your appreciation of the piece grows because it’s reminding you of a moment.

WALL ART ISN’T ABOUT YOU; WALL ART ILLUSTRATES YOUR RELATIONSHIP. When your husband looks at your Wall Art, he enjoys you and your relationship. When you look at your Wall Art, you are enjoying your husband and your relationship. When your friends and family look at your Wall Art, they are admiring the relationship of two special people in their life. And if you really are putting images up because you are vain, you probably aren’t the one asking the question.

There are a few different types of Wall Art: linen, canvas, thinwraps, & gallery wraps. Gallery wraps are printed on canvas and stretched on a custom-made frame. Your gallery wrap is then sprayed with a UV coating, backed with paper & outfited with mounting hardware. Because it doesn’t have to have a frame, it’s timeless and will fit in your home, no matter how many times you change-up your decor!

And a little note on SIZE. The Wall Art above is a 35 inch piece. The Wall Art you see below is a 40 inch piece. People tell me: “40 inches is huge! That won’t fit in my house.” The image below is in a normal living room, normal ceiling and we could have gone even bigger than 40 inches and it wouldn’t have over powered the room. BIGGER is BETTER!
